    Exhibition – NCSC/Science/Etc

    Exhibition
“Exhibitions” : With a view to encourage, popularise and inculcate scientific temper among its more than 12 lakh children, KVS organises Annual Science Exhibition (Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani) at three different levels. On NCSC, children showcase their talents and discuss the application of Science and Mathematics in different areas related to everyday life.
In order to develop critical thinking about various national and global issues to maintain healthy and sustainable societies, children in the KVS ecosystem are provided opportunities to present their original scientific ideas through the platform of the National Children Science Congress and Inspire Manak Awards.

    NCSC
In KVS, NCSC is implemented in three phases, i.e., School level, Regional level and National level. At Regional level, 300-400 Child Scientists from various Kendriya Vidyalayas present their projects. About 450 outstanding innovative projects are further selected from 25 Regions to participate in the KVS National Level. KVS, a state with 42 exemplary projects, participates in the National Level NCSC in which 28 States, 8 Union territories and 9 Gulf countries participate.
KVS selects 42 exemplary and promising projects out of 449 creative and innovative projects from 25 regions, including three CSWN category projects, for further participation at the National Level NCSC.

    INSPIRE Award
The ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE Awards, MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), is executed by DST with the National Innovation Foundation of India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST. It aims to motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years studying in classes 6 to 10. The objective of the scheme is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children.
During the session 2022-23, 3671 students from Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country submitted their best ideas in the INSPIRE Awards MANAK portal. 710 Students were selected for District Level Exhibition & Project Competition (DLEPC). Further, 08 best projects were selected through the KVS State Level Exhibition & Project Competition (SLEPC) held online from 08.02.2023 to 09-02-2023. These projects participated in the National Level Exhibition & Project Competition (NLEPC) for the session 2021-22. Moreover, 01 project titled ‘Partial Inversion Table for Aged and Lower Back Pain’ prepared by Master Sugali Yashas Kumar of KV RWF Yelahanka, Bengaluru was placed in top 60 projects all over India in 9th NLEP conducted by DST, New Delhi.

STEM Week (14th–18th July 2025) REPORT

SCHOOL – PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Devlali
Organized Under: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Mumbai Region
    Total Student Participation: 2180
    Total Teacher Involvement: 60

To promote scientific thinking, creativity, and innovation among students, Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Devlali organized a vibrant STEM Week from 14th to 18th July 2025. The week was marked by a wide range of hands-on, inquiry-based, and collaborative activities aligned with national programs like ATL, SIC, INSPIRE, RBVP, VVM, and more.

Day 1: ATL & School Innovation Council (SIC): The STEM Week commenced with an introduction to ATL and SIC during the morning assembly. Presentations were given on the KAPILA program, and students of Class XI showcased their innovative projects developed under SIC. Discussions on Robotics and AI sparked curiosity, while a STEM quiz was conducted for Classes IX to XII. Career Cards related to STEM fields were discussed with senior students. A project exhibition featured models like acid-base indicators and sea water density.

Day 2: INSPIRE Awards MANAK & Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM): Students from Classes VI to XII participated in an idea pitching session focused on innovation and sustainability. Practical experiments were conducted across science labs, and a creative chart/poster-making activity emphasized the role of science in daily life. The “My STEM Dream” wall displayed students’ aspirations. An inspirational story of a young Indian innovator was shared in the assembly. Five best projects were shortlisted for INSPIRE Awards, and awareness sessions on VVM encouraged students to register and participate.

Day 3: RBVP & Soil Health Programme: A quiz on biodiversity, sustainability, and environmental values engaged Classes VIII to XI. Field visits were arranged for Class VI students to observe soil, plants, and water in natural settings. Students presented the outcomes of soil health tests in the assembly, followed by a knowledge-sharing session with local farmers and agronomists on indigenous practices. A workshop under Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani (RBVP) guided students to identify real-life problems and create scientific models for exhibitions.

Day 4: PRAYAAS & YUVIKA (Youth Science Programme): The day featured a Space Science Quiz involving students from Classes VI to XI. The “One Day as a Scientist” activity provided an immersive experience for Class VII students. Recorded videos of former ISRO Chief Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam inspired learners. Students performed role-plays and shared stories about Indian scientific breakthroughs. ISRO’s achievements and space facts were shared during assembly, followed by screenings of short documentaries. In the PRAYAAS Ideathon, students brainstormed solutions to local issues, fostering innovation and teamwork.

Day 5: Mathematics Olympiad – HBCSE: The concluding day focused on mathematics-based activities. A Math Quiz challenged logical reasoning, while PM SHRI Maths kits were used in morning assembly demonstrations. An essay competition on legendary Indian mathematicians enriched historical knowledge. Activities like Vedic Math challenges, puzzle corners, and a Math Treasure Hunt made the subject engaging. Students also demonstrated math tricks and conducted quiz rounds in assembly. A math exhibition displayed models and charts promoting conceptual clarity.

Conclusion:The STEM Week at KV AFS Devlali was a grand success. It not only fostered scientific temperament among students but also encouraged creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Each day offered unique learning opportunities, blending theoretical knowledge with real-world application. The enthusiastic participation of students and dedicated efforts of teachers ensured that the spirit of STEM education reached every learner.
