Report on NIPUN BHARAT
PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya successfully conducted NIPUN (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) activities for primary classes. The NIPUN initiative, launched under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to ensure foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) for all children by the end of Grade 3. The primary focus of these activities was to enhance students’ reading, writing, and mathematical skills through fun and engaging methods.
- Reading and Storytelling Sessions: Reading sessions were organized where teachers read aloud interesting stories to the students. Interactive storytelling techniques were used to engage the children, followed by discussions and comprehension exercises.
- Phonics and Vocabulary Building: Activities focused on enhancing phonics and vocabulary were conducted. Teachers used flashcards, word games, and rhyming exercises to make learning new words enjoyable for the students.
- Mathematical Skill Development: Basic numeracy skills were enhanced through hands-on activities, such as counting games, puzzles, and arithmetic exercises. For classes 1 to 3,activities focused on simple addition, subtraction, and number recognition.
- Writing Workshops: Writing activities were organized to encourage students to practice letter formation, sentence construction, and creative writing.
- Interactive Learning Corners: Interactive learning corners were set up in classrooms, each dedicated to different subjects. These included reading with books, math corners with manipulatives and puzzles.
